FabSoft offers many different solutions that integrate with Wide Format devices and provide many beneficial features. FabSoft’s solutions offer intelligent connectors to existing client devices so documents can be automatically distributed to email, fax, printers, wide format printers and archive systems. Large sized documents are automatically resized, so routing to these destinations is done easily. In order to simplify document storage and retrieval, documents are associated with business transactions and/or project details and metadata generated from backend systems. Additionally with FabSoft’s solutions, organizations can easily collaborate on projects. All documents relating to a project can be archived to the same location and whenever these documents are modified, the user simply scans the document and it is intelligently added to the rest of the files.

FabSoft's Tag Doc automates the archival of documents by combining barcode tagging with the scanning utility of any Wide Format MFP, MFP or scanner. For example: Multiple employees at an engineering company are working on some drawings. These drawings are constantly being written on, edited and revised. Whenever changes are made, they need to be printed and submitted to other team members to review and make additional changes. With Tag Doc an engineer, engineer A would create a drawing with his auto CAD application. This drawing needs to be reviewed by engineer B. The drawing is printed to the wide format MFP located near engineer B’s desk. Upon printing the drawing, Tag Doc automatically tags it with a barcode and archives it to the company archive system. Engineer B reviews the drawing and writes down comments and changes that should be made. Next, he scans the drawing which contains his handwritten additions. Upon scanning, Tag Doc recognizes the barcode and archives it with the original document. It is also printed to the wide format printer by engineer A, so he can see the changes that engineer B has made.

Since it is stored to the archive system, additional team members can easily retrieve the document and follow the same process. After they have made their written changes, they simply scan the document which is automatically archived with the previous versions of the document. It is also extremely important to note that when archiving, Tag Doc archives the full text of the drawing and can control indexes and directory locations. So engineers can easily retrieve the needed drawing by performing a search using information such as job number, client name, employee ID, etc.
Documents scanned with Ricoh Wide Format are automatically archived and distributed.

Modular Object Scanning Technology
Scan documents and specify distribution right from the MFP screen

Another one of FabSoft’s solutions that integrates with Ricoh’s Wide Format devices is Modular Object Scanning Technology. Modular Object Scanning Technology allows users to input document routing information right from the convenience of the Ricoh Wide Format MFP display screen. For example: 2 separate divisions of an architecture company are working together on a project for a customer. A representative from Division A has just received Division B’s contribution to the project. This blueprint has been reviewed and signed by Company A and now needs to be scanned and distributed to the following places: sent back to their contact at Division B, mailed to the client and archived to Division A’s archive system. With Modular Object Scanning Technology all of these actions could be completed right from the MFP screen.

Modular Object Scanning Technology presents users with all of the document distribution options right at the MFP screen. Enter in fax numbers, email addresses, subjects and notes for faxing and emailing and specify directory locations, indexes, document types, and descriptions for archive systems. The document can also be printed to any printer or MFP on the network, with full control over all finishing options. The appearance and options displayed on the MFP screen can even be customized using the Designer, so screens can be designed specifically to meet document activities.
